Hi there,i need you guys expert opinions.I plan on getting a ef 70-200 2.8.But how i ensure i get the best possible sharpness from the lense in the store? how to i check or what not? Cheers

At the shop, request them to give you two other copies, choose the best one. Not sure if most shop allows.
Else, zoom out test the biggest aperture and f8 or f11 then zoom in, do the same thing. That's how I do.

You'll prolly need to bring a portable DVD player or notebook to see the image for checking and comparison. You won't be able to distinguish the difference (Not that I know anyway) from the LCD on the camera itself - not even on the largest LCD which todate is 3-inch.
...of course you can always save the image onto your CF card and bring home to check, just take note of the serial number of the lens you try. ![]() Last edited by rendition; 15th May 2008 at 07:28 PM. |
