Default Jeffrey | Kairin

My first time shooting a wedding of my cousin, though a simple one I would say I turned out pretty confident about it. Hopefully it goes down well with the audience here, if there's anything to improve, fill up the gaps!

C&C gladly appreciated!~ thanks!!
congrats to my cousin and her new hubby!

bro, very nice shots; but i thought something stood out here, i.e. that there were far too many shots with people, and people. while that was certainly ok, made the series a bit monotonous. more variance would make this a lot stronger.

but take what i say with pinch of salt la, i mean, i don't really look at a lot of wedding photos, usually just a lot of will03's and j0h0's so er, i probably have a very skewed idea of what wedding photography should be like. also it is after all your first time, perhaps you really want to make sure you capture the things instead of trying something arty farty and getting an unusable shot.

particularly liked the bnw one with a lot of space at 0:52, prefer to crop out the bottom right corner though.

this standard is already very good for a first timer... especially for events, it is not simple at all, you only have one chance to shoot. and thats it.

I find it not very appropriate to ask for comment in this case. Reason is that you are shooting for the customer, it is the customer that is what you should be pleasing , not the photographers in CS.

What ever the comments here receive is not important, because if at the end of the day, the customer is happy, it means that you have done your job ( interms of communication with the customer and your expertise ). Every photographer has his own preference ( angle of shot, mood and selection of lens ) but if you are taking it as a paid task, then it is a matter of shooting what your boss wants.

very well done.

I enjoy watching your works. There's one frame with two hotel rooms in it, one shows what bride doing, one shows groom..wonderful idea!

agree with you, playing safe on one side, trying out alittle only on the other. did take food shots and of the place too. There weren't alot of those perhaps, the wedding was much shorter than the usual ones but it was really enjoyable shooting somehow, must be that virgin moments

very well done.
thanks! i will take note of that. i'm pretty confident they will be pleased with the results but somethings might be technically off so i might be watching out for repeat mistakes in the future. I wouldn't have taken up the job if i hadn't trusted myself more than they trusted me. heh

The shots and lighting are quite good!

However, from a videography aspect, the photos transition is of a constant speed, with is totally separated from the music used, and the photos are not categoriezed according to the progress of the music, makes the viewing a bit uncomfortable!

Making my own wedding photo slideshow soon, hope can post here afterwards!

Correct me if wrong!

ah, i understand your point haha but i'm not about soundslide, or at least for the demo i'm using because i couldnt really adjust much..even when i play it on the demo, it can't be paused! so i decided to just let it put everything together, i guess that was a mistake!

i'll better watch out on this area next time, thanks!

i was very impressed at the beginning of the slideshow and then the images started to get very normal. i guess when you display alot of photos the "average" of the lot will usually go down, nothing wrong.

image selection for a slide show is very important as you have to display quite a lot to "fill up the song". it's easy to shoot say 10 killer shots in a wedding but not 60, not to mention editing them tastefully and in line with the rest of the images. but please don't stop trying!

i like the way you have balanced your flash with ambient light, where you have used flash. it is a very very important thing for wedding photographers to master (many fail!!), and i think you're doing a good job there.

nit pick: change the font of your logo.

seems to second what night86mare had said too, gets alittle too bored afterawhile. I also got to watch the music and picture transition like mentioned by emerald.

for let's say 60 killer shots, are you referring to a full day wedding because this was a lunch reception. I might have many lost opportunities with so few killer shots or none at all.

Thanks on the flash control, must be nikon's TTL.. I had problem initially when i chose centre weighted metering until I decided to go spot metering. Was in manual controls. Just checking is spot metering the preferred way?

noted on the logo paiseh so ugly..

thanks again for your professional advice
