This was taken at the almost completed Chinatown market a few days back.
![]() Compositionally, against conventional norm, I had placed him on the right with very little space between him and the edge of the frame. This was because of too much clutter on the right side and including them in would had kill off the scene. Does placing the subject so close to the edge works here? If it does, do the almost empty space on the left cause an inbalance? Would a square crop help to rectify that inbalance? Also, there are three dominant colors in the image. Is the tri colors more aesthetically pleasing or would a conversion to black and white as in HERE helps to isolate the subject better? Thanks for your time and thoughts on this. EXIF Time: 1638hrs Exposure: 1/640 sec Aperture: f/4 Focal Length: 118 mm ISO Speed: 400 Exposure Bias: -1 EV Flash: Flash did not fire

Nice color for me, but I would suggest keeping more of the stair railing in the frame would make a more interesting photo (that may means making it a portrait).

the colour is okay.. but i personally find the picture kinda messy... (a lot of stuff all arnd.. railings cut like the top there..) and i would prefer a frontal portrait shot. would have given the picture more impact. =]
just my opinion |

in the current format, the direction he is facing "points out" of the frame. ![]() also, might consider this in bnw. where the light is attention grabbing, flaunt it with discarding color. ![]() |

Would this be better? Was playing with channel mixer and tried a BW version.

It would be cool if you could get a close up on the face when the glow of the light is reflecting off the mask.

Would've expected sparks flying off the post.

Not a expert on welding. But I think there's a difference between arc welding whereby you would associate it with the usual sparks flying around and the newer technique of laser beam welding which I think is being used here.
