CANON EOS-1D offer ? A hoax

I saw this at HWZ buy/sell:

Apparantly he is not a local seller. maybe a overseas photo shop

Here are extracts of his email to me

'dear sir
the product is brand new in original box with mannual and have3 years of warranty
i sell the product because that's my job so if you want to buy it mail me asap
regards!'

'no sir the price is 1500 usd united states dollars
pls mail me asap to get more information
and give me your full name and address to know you want the product and can i put it to Ups Air Lines Service
REGARDS!'

Anyone asked more details ?
Is it a good buy at that price ?
Will Canon actually honour the warranty here ?

USD1500 is about S$2595.

Might as well buy locally. When you factor in the delivery cost, It will be cheaper to buy locally.

All Canon digital cameras only has country specific warranty.

to put your mind at ease, why don't you just go ahead, pay up and order the eos-1d for US$1.5k.

When it arrives and you find that the warranty is not an international warranty card, you can sell it to me for US$1,501. All I ask is that its new and in working condition

oops!!! Thot it was 10D!

As for the warranty, that's what the local canon distributor told me. All digital cameras has only country specific warranty. All film bodies and lenses will have international warranty.

Its actually stated on the warranty card itself if I'm not wrong.

@ USD 1500 for a 1D, it is a steal.....

Never belief in too-good-to-be-true deals, chances are they are not true.

I once saw a offer for 1DS on ebay for USD1999 from an account with 400 +ve feedbacks. Sounds reliable. Wait... check his reviewers, all reviews are posted within a week by different accouts. Incidentally, his account is only 2 weeks old... Fishy?

Let us not pay any amount to learn any lessons. Just my opinion

I told him when the camera reach my doorstep and I check the condition then I send the money if not no deal.

You best bet in escow services.

In the US and Japan, they do have COD, but not here.
