Default dos and donts for nite micro photography

Hi

Night micro shoot seems to be getting more common.
And the pictures in this forum are certainly tempting enough to give me a push!

Before I start, is there any preparation that I need in terms of equipment or whatever?
For instant , it’s already quite tough to focus at nite, not to mention focusing in darkness…
Do u guys use touch light or kind to assist?
Also is there like any time frame that’s “best” for taking micro in the nite?
Any dos and don’ts so as not to disturb the habitat in the darkness.

Will appreciate all kinds of contributions to making the nite micro photography pleasant and exciting.

Thanks in advance!
