Here's another close up shot for critique. EXIF data available with the picture.
Marx - if you see this, it's another handheld shot again http://www.pbase.com/image/18048555 teerex |

Nice details on the feathers!
The white crown is a tad over-expose. You must really have a nerve-of-steel to handheld this shot at 1/38s and take good sharpness! Btw, are you sure your 5700 doesn't have the VR function?? ![]() |

Or maybe he mistook a D100 + VR lens for a 5700.
Nice close up btw. |

I think if you position yourself securely, find some support to lean on and keep your arms close and tight to your body, breath out, hold and trip the shutter. Should be able to shoot down to 1/2s. Still very lazy to carry along an tripod as I feel that it's a drag. Yes the crown is overly over exposed, was on center weighted metering and sunlight was falling directly above thru' the cage. Should have taken another shot with matrix metering. This is the reason why I need critiques to point out what's wrong, still have lots to learn to improve. ESPN - wish I have a D100 + VR instead of the 5700. ![]() |
