What is the reasonable price to sell off the Zuiko Digital 40-150mm F4.0-5.6 with 10.5mths warranty and till now is well sitting in my dry box?
How much is a new Zuiko Digital ED 18-180mm F3.5-6.3? Is it good? I read some thread that it has bad focusing for this lens with E510? Is there alternative to recommend? like 3rd party?

Here is an in-house user review of the 18-180mm. Do bear in mind that lens design, like most other things, revolves around compromises, so a 10x super zoom, while very versatile, would not be very bright, nor would it be the sharpest lens around. Just like the sharpest optics you'll find will be the fixed-focal lenses, but then you'll lose the flexibility of a zoom. Of course there are the SHG zoom lenses which are extremely sharp, extremely bright but are at the same time very large and heavy, and expensive.

Hi Bruno,
Maybe you can tell us what you plan to shoot. I've never touched the 18-180 and only rely on reviews on it but from what i've heard, it's a so-so lens only. If you're looking for a mid-budget sharper wide-mid lens, go for the 14-54 second hand or first hand If you're looking for a lower-budget tele, get the 80-300 If you have more budget, get the 50-200 non-swd second hand if you can find. Regards Joshua |

what drakon09 said makes 100% sense. Do take a second look and fully understand it.
To me IQ is important. So i'll stay away frin the 18-180mm go for the 14-54mm anytime. I haven't tried the 70-300 nor the 50-200 so i shall not comment. But i feel that the 40-150 is actually quite good. (i'm using the one which is F3.5-4.5) |

First the Olympus warranty is not transferable. I don't know what the used market is in Singapore, but in Canada/US the most you can probably get is $179CDN or $240SGD.
As for the 18-180, do you want it because it's 30mm more, or because of it's long zoom so you don't have to change lenses so often? You can find a review here: http://www.biofos.com/esystem/1818_tst.html |

Yes i think thats a better choice over buying the 18-180mm lens. the 40-150 is better than the 18-180mm to me.
