Default Dayang with a Fuji F50Fd

Hi folks,

Still very much a newbie to diving and underwater photography. Decided to go get a small and house it for diving rather than housing my existing SLR system. Haven't seen much underwater shots using Fuji Cameras so far, but it's pretty nifty. Really wished I could go wider and more closeup though.

Just to share some shots I got from the Dayang trip over the weekend.

Major OT again ... I like your website BTW ...

now back on track ... well, its good investment if you really underwater photography ... something totally different from land photography ... Beside, SGD is stronger abit .. hence those imports may cost slightly cheaper

Hey your pics looks great!

Just curious about your camera setup & settings, are you using any strobe or WA lens? and wat kind of settings u have on for most of the pictures? Especially those macro shots. If iirc, F50fd have both aperture and shutter priority, did you use those functions extensively on your pictures?
Sorry for asking so much qns, i am a newbie to u/w photography

Great pics anyway...

ahsohz,

I didn't have $ to get another else yet so these are just done simply with the default Fuji casing, nothing else. Because I can't shoot in RAW for this camera, I just simply used their underwater scene Actually works out pretty well apart from the flash being too weak most times.

Mate,

are you using any strobe light on your pictures? its amazing! i recently manage to get the old F31fd, but the default housing for it is no longer in production so alternatively i'm thinking to get the ikelite housing for it. i wonder do i need a strobe for it as i know it wouldn't be cheap.

Hi surflim,

Im using a F31fd with the default housing. The internal flash is ok for macro shots, so long as it's not too close, else the picture won't be exposed properly. If you see my attached picture, it is quite obvious where the flash is facing.

Thanks Elric! Btw is it possible to post a bigger resolution image?
