Anyone has any recommendations for local servicing? Or am I better off just to send it overseas? I have heard horror stories of Mint Leica bodies coming back with some scratches and I have seen the work area of some of the folks, very scary indeed.
Also, do they actually clean the aperture blades? |

I second that.. i've been there.. his work space is scary.. but he knows what he is doing. If you ask him to service a lens.. he wont just lube and clean what is obvious.. he will dismantle everything and make sure it gets a thorough CLA.. he will advise you against it because if the lens
rice ratio is not good.. because for the work he does.. it does cost a bit of money.. but your equipment is in safe hands

He will do a good cleaning job but will not fix your problem. I send in my canon 50mm f1.2 for cleaning. The lens is misalign , told me not possible to CLA to a leica body. Camera Hospital Steven later help me tweaked abit. Now slightly better but I am going to send DAG in US for CLA.
