Install an IP camera, cheap and can DIY installation. Can check on your home anywhere as long as you have internet connection. I installed 2 IP cams at home.

difficult to set up?
cause our home broadband is on dynamic IP, does we need to get a fixed IP for it and open up ports for the router? |

the modem and wireless router need to be turned on as long as you are using the camera. Yes, you need to open up a port on your router. No problem with dynamic IP, there are free services to track your dynamic IP
