Default lotus flower in fullerton garden

shot with pentax k1000, smc takumar 50mm f1.4 at f4, expired 1yr provia 400f.

flowers photos but not very closeup and definitely macro, so post here right?

pls give me advice should i to crop the top (ie the real flower) for #1 and #3, showing only the leaves and reflection of the stalk and flowers. thanks.

to me the reflection of the flower with the reflection of the sky (i guess) is beautiful..

below are the cropped version, showing the reflection of the flower.

reason why i do this is because, it was the reflection of the flower in the water that caught me eyes, not the flower itself. why? i also dont know.

this shot is really nice ( composition and angle of shot ).
I hope the TOP bright portion be blacken or darken, I felt rather distracting.

Wanted to let you know that the pictures you are showing are not lotus flower. They are water lily.

oops, this is so embarrassing.

me bad in id-ing flowers, insects and birds. thought lily no flower only lotus have.

Hi Dennis,

Nothing to be embarrased about, as the flower between the lotus and Water lily are very similar. I can't even describe the difference. The easy way to differentiate them is thru the leaves. Water lily leaves are floating on the water surface. Lotus leaves are standing above the water held by its stalk. In a lot of religion Lotus symbolise purity as despite being in muddy water it is able to cleanse itself and rise above the muddy water.
