You used digital zoom right? The bokeh is nice, but the macro is not sharp enough. Try using a close up filter instead and try to use flash for the macro shots. Works wonders.

Just a humble advice from a fellow CP5700 user

I did not use digital zoom, just optical zoom. Pics 1,3 and 4 the butterflies were about 6 feet, max 7 feet from me. Pic 2 is a macro, will try to use flash as suggested.

As you have stated that the macro is not sharp enough, it may be due to camera shake as I did not have a tripod with me that day (I normally do not carry a tripod out).

Thanks for viewing and your comments, much appreciated

Very nice butterfly shots, teerex.

1st and 2nd pics -

Good composition too!

3rd pic a tad OE, also 4th one, IMO.

As espn said, you can try using close-up filters, to get more magnification and sharper macros.

Just keep 'em coming

Thanks for sharing the shots ... would be better you post the EXIF data ( camera settings ) so that we can know what went wrong or good ...

are these shots taken at the ZOO ?

I'll extract the EXIF for comments. Yes, they were taken at the ZOO.
