i was using the fotohub online package.
i upload the picture and choose to collect at 35MM Color lab at 2nd Ave juction. When i collected my pictures of 4Rs and 5Rs... there were big problem with the border. I had a minor disagreement withthe counter staff over why it came to be like that. 4R ratio lah... digital ratio lah... I already crop nicely everything ok He insisted it was my fault.... I was pretty upset and left. But I felt so angry and short changed.... it was probably my few thousands digital print experience that convinced my self that I was right. I went back and was served by the manager, Alan. He nicely explained to me the default option is to do fit-in, that why probably I had problems with my prints. End out the fault was 1/2, 1/2. My 4R ratio was right 4"x6". My 5R ration was wrong. I used the same as 4R when it should be 5"x7" anyway he was very nice and reprinted my all my 5R for me in 15min. I decline his offer to reprint thr 4R as it was still acceptable. I was very impressed by his service attitude. He actually took pain to listen to me. those living near the area. Good place and they use FDI |

Hi there,
Since you send online, try self collect at OUB Centre. They print on Kodak paper. 35mm print on fuji paper. And I realised the lab tech play a important role too whether your prints come out 'nice'. (The best is put a clause in the 'other instruction box' to tell them not to do anymore correction.) Try sending a few samples to both and compare which ones you like. Those who opted for delivery most likely done on kodak paper. Hope this helps. |

The branch at 2nd ave junction using Fuji FDI is better. Actually kng, by that i mean it depend on the lab coz i gotten pretty decent prints at other lab. just make sure you have good resolution... if your result sucks... digital not that bad............... try changing lab where are you printing now? |

I feel the same also. When I first printed with them and Select mail me my photo(online). The print was on Kodak print and it cannot make it. Send to their 2nd Ave outlet with the same file. It turn out better. |

I use 35mm more often. Lately I notice my batch printed with them looked washout! This is after bringing home and compare with my own prints and on screen. Did they employ someone to run the machines? hmmm... I send some of it from the same batch printed at OUB centre. Turn out close to what I see on my screen, although on kodak paper. So my conclusion.... the lab tech do play a part whether the prints are from 35mm / OUB centre. |

Seems that the Fuji prints are better (more film like?) than the kodak ones, colour seems to be quite close to computer monitor but they all seem rather 'soft' - cld be due to the digicam (canon)? The Kodak ones are v 'hard' looking - quite un-natural. Wld this be consistent with your experience? Thanks for the help!! |
