I have problems opening the raw files in Photoshop CS2, even with the plugin supplied by Olympus. Can the lao jiaos give some advice?

CS2 does not support Camera Raw 4 onwards which supports ORF for E3, E510 and E410. So, either you upgrade to CS3 or you should download the DNG convertor to convert your ORF to DNG.

This is something new to me, didn't know the CS2 cannot open ORF files. Is there any loss in quality after the conversion from ORF to DNG?

i only recently started using lightroom to convert my ORFs (from DNG convertor + CS2 ACR). i feel that ORFs have more headroom to work with, but it could also just be LR being more powerful than CS2 ACR. ask the seniors

It supports ORF files, but not from newer cameras. Each camera has a different version of ORF because it has a newer sensor and/or processing. That's the thing about RAW...it's the RAW data from the camera, so when the camera internals get changed the RAW file is changed, and software that handles RAW files needs to be updated to handle newer cameras.

I see I see, one more question. How is the colour reproduction like? My previous experience with the E-300 in ACR(some older version of it) nad muted colours and none of the punchy olympus colours I see in JPEG. Is that still the case?
