any reasons why shoot in potrait and not landscape orientation?

Portrait mode seems ok for these shots (at least to me). I think it might look nicer if the first shot is more to the left (the road with light trails cover more of the bottom of the frame). For the second, the trees are distracting.

nice and clean captures..
though compositionally was so-so.. for pic 1.. as mentioned.. the frame is a bit too squeezed to the "left".. as for #2.. the trees didn't help.. but the fact that they are there.. well.. ok lo.. ha.. but the sky's a bit boring.. maybe shoot slightly earlier?? =) cheers!
