Default What else can I do with a Sigma 150mm Macro??

    Hiya,

considering a macro lens and (currently) am for the Sigma 150mm f2.8 APO Macro.
I'm pretty convinced it can perform well when capturing subjects like insects, flowers, etc.

However, can it perform when doing stuff like portrait and food photography?
cos the relatively large focal length could be problematic in those situations and i rather own a jack-of-all-trades lens which can perform acceptably well in a few fields than a dedicated macro that can't be utilized much.

    any comments/ suggestions? =P

it can be used as a low light lens, potrait etc where lightings are bad... with its big F2.8 aperture... though focusing speed tends to loose out to the standard zooms... it is still okie with its HSM....

food/nature macro is still macro, shouldn't be a prob. just do a bit more walking to get to the food if need to adjust.

this lens quite sharp, for portrait maybe a bit too sharp lol.
but, long working length means u are a bit further from the model than usual. whether its good or bad depends on you, the model and the place.

focusing wise i think there is a focus limit to speed up the AF, so shouldn't be so slow that it will annoy u.
