what do u mean by a normal cam? dg? dslr? or normal auto film cameras?

lomo is a plastic toy camera tat uses films, some do use expired to get the fading effect.

sometimes it's jus for playing but some of the shots taken is great

it's manual. my frens do use it for random shots. point and shoot.

    hope tat helps,
    wj

it depends on what sort of lomo cam you're using?

there is fisheye, there is action sampler, there is vivitar, there is holga, there is lca

all of them have one thing in common - quirkiness.. and one more.. all use film
