Default Minimum focusing distance



hi guys, just got a nikon 60mm micro and it says min focusing distance is 22cm. however i am able to focus on the coin as above at a distance closer than that (like less than 10). so what does it mean?

MFD is sensor to object, not front of lens to object. it means you didn't read the manual. =)

This is new to me too!
All the while I thought it's from lens principal point to the object.

This MFD did come up in a discussion we had on the Nikkor 105 previously...

Is a tripod needed for macro photography using Nikon AF-S Micro 105 f/2.8 VR?
