Default Recommendation For Word Processor for Mac

    Hi,

Have you used any good freeware word processor designed for Mac and can be downloaded from websites?

TextEdit is already on your machine. It's good for basic word processing.

    Otherwise, NeoOffice is also freeware/donationware.

Thank you so much guys. Actually i was thinking of the freeware program for my short term usage.

But was thinking is it necessarily to get Iworks or Microsoft office for Mac? And if so, which would be better?

I like Pages from iWork '08 because of its ability to do page layout or word processing. MS Word is both broken and bloated but it's the only word processor, if you need to do books and other large documents.
