Default Belated post of Hover fly, Damselfly, Grasshopper

Went to BG last saturday with the pros, here are the results...

What's UP?
Took with kei holding his external flash acting as a bounce flash..
Was quite amazed by the sharpness..
Guess my other shots were just handshakes..

What's DOWN?
Trying another perspective of not shooting the whole damselfly.

Dead in 1 piece
A whole specimen of a dead grasshopper hanging on a stem.

Pollen! I WANT POLLEN!
A first try at shooting hovering bees. Not as sharp as I would like. Will try again next time.

Very nice series shots. Good work and you have exceeded the knowledge on using your A40. Although some shots are soft , I believe they are caused by the limitation of the camera (due to slow shutter speed and A40 is not able to overwrite it).

As for 1st shot , crop away the bright spot at the bottom of the image.

djchris working magic as usual with his A40. Nice background and framing for the last two shots. Amazing detail too. Overall a big thumbsup!

edit: oops...shld be last 2 shots (dead grasshopper + bee)instead, not first 2. Order of pics was inverted.

an A40? My word... now, that's a prime example of the photographer being more important than the picture.

Well done djchris.

Thank you all for the compliments..
I felt that I need to remember some pointers and other perspective of photographing the subject...

Some of these pointers would be like to look out for bright spots in background, and to ALWAYS clean my stuff before a shoot...
