btw the sea cucumber I believe is the edible variety.. but I will knock anyone's heaad if they go cyrene reef to collect/poach

cyrene reef not easy to go to so its quite well protected from poachers but always have one or two fisherman who like to pick up animals..

oh its a damn cool place..
its a submerged reef.. meaning only when low tide then there's land..

so there's no comfy jetty like Ubin u have to literally jump off a boat and u can be on the isle for the duration of low tide else u better be prepared to swim.

the place is a danger for most ships (I have seen before at the begining of low tide its hardly visible) so most ships avoid that place. seasoned boat drivers know of it (there's markers to warn them)
I had the fortune to visit there cos part of a seagrass survey team. It pays to volunteer hahaha

I suspect the reason why there's always interesting things to find there is precisely becos its not very easy to reach..

I tried a gazillion focusing pts on him but it was never sharp.. later then i realise.. its the shell pattern.. its OOF design hahah ... silly me.. i shld have focused on the antenna..

ah cyrene reef...one too many spots i always past by while patrolling the waters of spore(i serving NS in police coast guard), was surprise to see this thread cos i know that place is being marked by several buoys to indicate danger to boats, which can be grounded. even my patrol boats avoid that place. like slaam said, need to have someone who knows how to get in there. it would be a great place to see those marine life and also to take pictures. nice of you to share this slaam

you would have to rent a boat but the seagrass survey ppl find it hard to find boats that's willing to go near the reef.
