Hi, for those familiar with the SU-800, i would like to find out if it's possible to use the SU800 to trigger a set of SB800 and SB600 when the SU800 is mounted on a non-nikon camera.
Don't mind setting everything on manual, just want to know if it will trigger the rest of the flash wirelessly. Thanks. |

Yes, SU800 is used to trigger Nikon flashes. Juz need to set them to the same Channel and it'll do the trick.
Else, why would they call it CLS. Anyway, I think Nikon Website states clearly what it can be used for. For more info, you can also refer to The World of Nikon Speedlights. Last edited by Lmodel; 15th April 2008 at 08:34 AM. |

want to use it with a few different bodies that just do a plain trigger,
leica m6, rollei 35s and ricoh grd. cause with out all the compatible contacts, i'm wondering if the su800 will still fire even if set to trigger the rest of the flashes even they were set in manual mode. |

the SU800 only works with cameras that supports iTTL... which effectively rules out any non-nikon cameras, and any nikon DSLRs b4 the arrival of D70. the only SLR, IIRC dat might work with the su800 is the latest F6.
