Question Ricoh GRD2 and IR

Hi,

I would like to do IR shots with the GRD2. But the adapter is 37mm size. Seems like I cant find a 37mm IR filter around. I have difficulties find a step up ring too from 37mm.
Any advise?

I have seen GRD users facing soft IR pics due to wrong focusing, do I just set to infinity focus and solve the problem?
GRD users any advise?

Hi,

I own a GRD1. I got my step-up ring from Ebay. Just search something like "37 52 step up". There should be plenty of stores selling this product. For your reference, my step-up ring + shipping cost me ~SGD$7.00.

As for the focus, on my GRD, setting to infinity focus and snap focus does not help. Photos taken in these modes are not sharp compared to matrix and single point focus. I read in some other forums that when doing IR for GX100, they cover the AF light in front of the camera to force it to use CCD-method auto-focusing which improves the sharpness. You could try and see if it helps in GRD2.

Hi,

I am still experimenting, sometimes the photos are sharp, sometimes not. I also not sure how to focus properly, pretty frustrated myself .. am thinking of getting a DSLR instead. As for CWB, yes I normally use a patch of green grass lit by the sun.
