Nikon just announced the P80 which comes with an 18x zoom (27-486mm !) but will this be the successor of the 8800? Also, how will the P80 perform against the P5100 disregarding the focal range? The camera will be available from 25/04 and I may consider getting one to supplement my D300.
But still, I see no hotshoe for external flash (8800 has it) and no mentioning of shooting in RAW format. Was hoping for a model similar to the Canon G9... ![]()

Specs wise not bad. Using Expeed like the DSLR. A hot-shoe will be great. I guess its main rival is the panny FZ18 bah.

No hot shoe, use light sensing remote trigger for external flash, $10+ for one.
