Is it the same model as TZ15? I think I saw @ BEST at Vivo City.

Price I think about $500++.

Bro,

TZ5 already here. It's known as TZ15 in SG. A quote from Panasonic Japan (http://panasonic.co.jp/pavc/global/l...z11/index.html):

Quote:
*Product number varies depending on the sales area (DMC-TZ5 or DMC-TZ15, DMC-TZ4 or DMC-TZ11).
Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot!

Has anyone tried it out? Is it made in Japan or made in China?

I took a look at Harvey Norman over the weekend, think it is similar to it's predecessor (TZ-13???) except that it has the capability of doing HD video and pics...not sure how the HD pics going to turn out to be though...

Curious can the optical zoom be used when during recording movies with the TZ5?

I think it is very hard.... with the increase in resolution & small sensor size (to maintain the zoom factor).

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 Wi-Fi ... same function with TZ5 but addtl Wi-Fi...

http://www.photoxels.com/pr-panasonic-tz50.html

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ50 -- complete with Wi-Fi capabilities, standard 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity and access to T-Mobile® HotSpot service, users can upload digital photos taken with the TZ50 directly to Picasa Web Albums™, a free online photo-sharing service from Google. The 9.1 megapixel TZ50 is packed with a 28mm wide-angle lens, 10x optical zoom and the ability to record HD video, making it the ideal digital camera for active users.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ50 will be available in silver in May 2008 (USA)for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of USD $449.95.

Personally I think the TZ50 model would not be launched in SG.

I played some TZ5 HD video files from review sites and it appeared very jerky to me. I believe it should be my laptop, else it would've been flagged by the reviewers. Here are the links

Right click to save.

DP Review HD Video Sample (15.8MB)
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pana...e/P1030354.MOV

DC Resource HD Video Sample (30.6MB)
http://dcresource.com/reviews/panaso...w/P1000102.MOV

Just want to check with you guys. Is the video playback smooth to you ?
