Talking "Water Fascination" FUN FUN FUN!!!

Nostalgic Childhood memories
Sweet Experience we'll always miss

Water that rejuvenates
Fascination that never fades

Joy, Laughter, Fun
Being carefree under the sun

Makes me tempted to get an MC...
To be as free as a bee?

awwe, I suck @ poetry

It's been photoshopped heavily. Would like some comments from the pros. How do you take photo of large, disorderly group of kids running around, while having a focus, and removing distractions?

lol. Mum said that a kid looked like Obama!

C&C welcome

Cheers!

Heya. Thanks for the comment.

Personally, I wanted to capture children happily @ play.

However,

1) It felt kinda messy originally befor cropping. Too many kids running around. How to get a focus?

2) I could not concentrate on their expressions b4 cropping, coz their faces are small.

3) After cropping, I managed to remove "some" distractions from the background.

4) But as a result, the children's limbs have been cropped. That's not too good right, but you get a better view of their expressions.

Perhaps I should have used a higher aperture? hmm?

hi there.

your focus is a group of kids. therefore you can make use of dof (depth of field) to blur out the background, or rather wait out till there's no one behind or shoot from another angle.
don't be afraid to go close if your lens do not have enough reach, but don't appear intimidating else they'll stop whatever they're doing.

imo i would prefer the focus on only one child instead of a group as too many subjects in the composition may make it look a little messy.

btw, great capture of expressions.

Heya Buggy,

Thanks for the advise!

I was originally thinking of having it suitable for "Children@ Play" theme.

Since Its "Children" & not "child", my photo should show a group of kids, and not just one.

I wanna shoot a small group of kids, and have their expressions captured just as well. I ended up cropping their limbs unintenionally, so you'll be able to focus on their faces.

Hmm...There were damn many kids there. Vivo rooftop there..and children running here and there like ANTS!!! Found it pretty hard to segregate a subject from the rest.

I'm using kit lens, I was more afraid of getting my dslr wet coz the kids were spraying water here and there like some mini war zone. haha

cropping some limbs wouldn't hurt if you can capture all of their expressions i guess.

hmm... was thinking if they were all playing together, you'll have a much better time snapping. ah... and good luck for sypa, suppose the theme came from it? cheers.

Yur Joining? Haha. I'm sure you're one of the younger ones around here? should be elegible.

Just wondering what the judges were looking for based on SYPA 2006 Winners. I felt some of the consolation price winners were much better than the overall winner.

I dun think I'll post the photo above...too common and lacks originality I feel
