Default getting started with TLRs

i just inherited a rolleiflex 2.8F from a 100 year old man ! its from my grand-pa-in-law so its quite sentimental for me.

once i figured how to pop open the viewfinder I was hooked with the square format view and that large screen size ! now i'm commmitted to payback some of the old man's kindness by shooting some of his great-grandchildren to send to him (my 2 sons).

appreciate if the more seasoned pro's here can get me stared:
- assessing if the camera is good to shoot
- where to get it serviced
- where to source for parts ( have the cover, strap is broken at the scissor clip)
- useful add-ons e.g. viewfinder addon to invert view
- where to get film and price to pay
- where to get film developed
- where to get pics scanned

saw lots of info here but feel that that a consolidated thread could be useful (and hopefully made a sticky) to drive interest in TLRs/medium formats .

Thanks in advance for you inputs, will take some pics of the hardware later.

Hi you just missed out TLR meeting yesturday.

- assessing if the camera is good to shoot
You can ask Andrew of P&G or Ron from Ron cameras. (But prepare to pay $)

As above

- where to source for parts ( have the cover, strap is broken at the scissor clip)
Ebay USA or contact Rollei in Germany

- useful add-ons e.g. viewfinder addon to invert view

- where to get film and price to pay
Fuji Reala ~$6+ Fuji Velvia ~$12+ get from Konota

- where to get film developed
Konota * Talk to Mr Quek the boss (man who process the film)

- where to get pics scanned

About 6 bucks for a roll of Fuji Reala, another 10-15 bucks for develop and 12 4S prints.

Just wondering, is Astia available here in 120 format? And do they have any other color negative film besides Reala?
