Default What would I need to start taking IR photos

Hello
I have a Sony R1 with a B+W UV filter (if that matters)
I have seen the IR photos and they are magnificent.
I would like to start taking some IR photos too.
Pls advise what are the basic items I will need to be able to start taking IR photos.

Thanks
Jag

you need a IR filter of you lens filter size, and a tripod.

and you need to read the sticky threads in the IR/UV Photography for info about shooting IR.

hope this help.

If you are really interested in IR, can come and join our future outings, there are a lot of friends here who can share their knowledge.

The interesting part of IR is, the snapping is only the beginning, the fun part comes when you need to do PS.

I am still very poor with my PS today, eventhough I had done quite a fair bit of IR before...

So, come and join the outing and have fun (and be poisoned!)...

i have been taking IR (R72) using my F31fd (iso 800, <1/20 secs shots) and FZ18 (iso 200, 10 secs).
Yet to try on D60.
Does anyone has spare 52mm or 72mm IR filter?
