Default Pics from Melbourne

Just flew back from Melbourne this evening. Pardon the low-res and the watermark.

The dried up tree in the middle gives it more impact.
For a while i thought it resembled a lightning bolt!

definitely have to agree with you on the watermark, but guess it's a necessary evil.

Same sentiments as well. We were at a vineyard, but the owner apparently thought to keep the tree there. Very distinctive.

Taken off the Great Ocean Road, rays of light cast onto the shoreline through the thick clouds.

Seems much noiser than your first pic. Intentionally postprocessed ?

Yup, this is the grittier of two versions I did of this picture.

A quick stop at the Twelve Apostles. I've seen some pics taken from the shoreline below, but didn't manage to explore that.

the composition and the processing is interesting. what did you do with the processing? there appears to be patchy areas of brightening but the patchiness seems to work very well.

yea, the composition of the last one isn't ideal - I wanted to work on it more as a photoshop challenge against the original pic. So yes, not tilt-shift lens, although I'm certainly a fan of TS photography.

Added a tint, duplicated a second layer with gaussian blur with screen blending for the glowy effect.

Sometimes I do brighten and darken areas to taste - the patching came naturally this time though, through the brighter spots in the picture. Cloud cover like this tend to produce interesting results, not so obvious in built-up areas, but more apparent across large flat areas.
