Default Hasselblad Purchase Help

I'm thinking of purchasing a Hasselblad 500 C/M after much considerations, but am not sure where I should buy from. These are the sources I'm considering:

1)Ebay
2)KEH.com
3)P&G

Ebay gets me the cheapest deal at around USD$700-900 average while P&G is dealing at SGD$2200. Just wondering where and how did you guys get your set? All guidance and advice appreciated.

Thanks!

Is ebay set you mentioned a complete set with 80mm lens, finder and magazine? Except if it's a bidding set and you get lucky otherwise USD900 almost impossible. A lot of "buy it now" quoted USD1.1-1.5k depends on condition. Plus shipping fee and Singapore custom tax of 7% actually SGD2.2k isn't that much, but then are you sure it is 500CM that you saw at P&G? Cause I've seen a complete 503CXi nearly new set sold for 2.4k at there. Also I suggest you to get at least a 501CM if not 503CW, not 500CM.

Yup.. the guy who got the 503CXi was really really lucky. There are still 2 copies of SWC there waiting for the lucky owners!

I don't know about prices ... but in addition, try to get lenses that are CF models and above ... previous models won't have the parts when they need repair ...

i would buy from ebay.

usually when i buy 1000+$ item, i am more careful with the seller's records.

avoid seller who has 1000+ positive feedback with a few negative complains. They are most dangerous. They may gain good comment on many many small and cheap item, when come to big buck item, they take advantage and cheat u.

how about sellers with 1000+ positive feedbacks and have quite a significant of items sold that r cameras themselves? i personally thought these would be safer.

did u get yours from ebay?

anyway, i was just wondering about the advice given to get a 503 body rather than a 500. is it due to the features like acute matte screen etc or is it due to the fact that its difficult to find repair parts for 500 bodies?
