here's one more. i prefer to retain the original aspect ratio but for this pic, a squarish crop seemed to work much better.

Clean background and lovely shots. Kinabalu seems a good place for birding too. BTW how many species did you managed to capture.

Hi erwinx,

Is that possible to share your equipment and setting? I believe you must be waited for quite some time to see these birds? I can't see any while I'm there

Hope to get some experience from you and next trip will try to shoot some bird if possible.

Hi Agpx4,

I actually browsed your kinabalu pics before going to kinabalu The sunbird was taken outside the restaurant (lucky) and the Indigo Flycatcher was a regular outside the Nepethenes villas so there was no secret technique in photographing these birds. I did not manage to photograph the Bornean specialties and had to be content to the commoner birds...

A long lens is required. a 300 f/4+2xTC would be the starting point...

wow.....so lucky!! I believe you should able to see the clear view of the summit!!! We have a very bad weather while I'm at the RM 8 location......... I'm plan to go again, this time round may ask whether any CS member interested with the trip..
