Did you try just using the wide-angle diffuser pannel instead?

anyone have any experience with Lightsphere(maybe the collapsible one) on car/IT show. planning to get one but..

    1) would like to know if it's good at eliminating harsh flash (when using iso 800) for shooting models in such a big hall where it's almost impossible to bounce off ceilings/walls.
    2) the diffuser point upwards or directly at the subject?

For car and IT show LS is pretty much useless.

My favorite DIY slip on diffuser is the cheap coconut squeezer cloth bag u can get from those "sell every kitchen accessories " type of stores. Costs less than $2. Just slip it over any reflector setup u have over your flash like a condom and I am v sure u will like the effect.

    I use this:

Bought from amazon... around S$25 with shipping. 6.75" by 6", double layer diffusion. Didn't cover the beam totally so still can use the beam for focusing. Performance is decent, cannot spread beyond 24mm on 1.6x crop and a *littlelittle* harsh in the middle. At least performance is consistent and it's compact to bring around.

Like useless. Shouldn't have wasted so much money to buy the big bounce card .

Errr... it's been a long time liao; the softbox had since been in cold storage for a couple months. I'm no longer using it because like all softboxes, gives too much flat lighting for my taste lol. I am in Singapore, that time I ship it to comgateway and comgateway forwarded to me.

    Nowadays I'm using this:

$12 from ebay lol and enhanced it. Works beautifully.

Still using my trusty old Metz 60CT4 flash with a fill light from film days. Main light bounce and fill light fill.
