Gary Fong AKA LightSphere
Normal bounce card
tried b4 abbc, omnibounce, flip it and demb diffuser.
So far flipit with demb diffuser combo is best for me.
think gf lightsphere works for me!
Somehow, I still like the look of bare ceiling bounce.
If I cannot do that (ceiling too high or some funny colour like purple), I will shoot with 2 flashes off hotshoe like a studio strobes left and right. (Assistant hold and I use radio TX/RX).
If cannot do that I use 1 flash off hotshoe with CLS.
If THAT also cannot do (maybe not enough space) shoot with ambient light purely.
The only time I ever use a bounce card or SB-800/SB-900 plastic diffuser is if I die die need to get the photo eg. For newspaper.
if ceiling isn't too high, and is white, then no diffuser (100% bounce)
if ceiling is so-so (ie. nearly white, but still bouncy) then i'll use the FULL piece of matt A4 photo paper ala. a-better-bounce-card, which i assume is ABBC on the voting thing..
if ceiling is crap (you know what i mean lah..) then demb flip it. big one pls.
if ceiling is crap and I want more natural/warmer portaits, then the white opaque fong-dong is da bomb (sorry..couldn't help it..lol)
I also like to stuff coloured paper/plastic in the fong dong for to interesting effect..heh..or alternatively, coloured condoms anyone?
i HATE the stofen omni-bounce ( hah..there i said it... -grin- )

i dun use anything...haha
Just to check, is the Lambency ones as good as Gary's?
For the lightsphere,
there's a clear & cloud,
any kind soul can advise what's the differences ?
The clear one lets more light through it, but will show more noticeable wall shadow than the cloud one for close work. It's better if you're photographing a bigger area, eg a large group or a dance floor.
I DEMB flash difusser user...
hahaa my friend rubbed off me quite abit saying that flash diffusers are a waste of power/electricity. Just bounce/lower flash compensation/shoot off camera. Ever since I've never got the motivation to buy a diffuser that costs at least $30~ >.< Maybe I'm missing out alittle but i guess its something a amateur hobbyist like me can live without
Shoot with your heart, not for greed/ego..
hi all, was wondering if i am indoor with a very high ceiling, how do you all usually position your flash? still aim flash at ceiling? currently using stofen omni bounce (darn ex for a piece of plastic). haha..
Omnibounce still the light concentrated on one small spot..shoot potraits face very often will have the flash reflection on the contours of the face if shot direct.
