i reverse my 50 f/1.4 on my 17-55 kit lens. is it suppose to work this way? can control the magnification with the zoom. but is it possible to convert it into tele macro?

You can in fact just hand-hold reverse the lens on the body. But it's asking for more dust in sensor. So best to get a reverse mount adapter. But all these ultra-poor-man macro methods are terrible since focusing and zooming is terribly hard. :P

thats what i did. but there are limitations like cant adjust aperture(too shallow DOF) and the magnification is just not big enough. thats why must consult you guys on which 2 lens to use. ![]() notice the very shallow DOF and magnification. any recommendation of cheap 52mm filter size zoom lens to match with my 50 1.8? |

You can get a 52-58 macro adapter, or use a step up filter. many budget zoom lens like the EFS18-55 or EFS55-250 is 58mm.
Or, as what a fellow CSer suggested, reverse the 50mm F1.8 on another 50mm F1.8
