    Edging ever closer

Sir Alex Ferguson says his players are fully focused on regaining their five-point lead over Chelsea and moving a step closer to Premier League glory.

Chelsea's 1-0 win over Everton on Thursday night moved the Blues to within two points of United, after the London club's surprising 1-1 draw with Wigan on Monday.

Victory for the Reds at Ewood Park and another at Stamford Bridge next Saturday would seal a 10th league title and Sir Alex is confident his team can do the business against Mark Hughes' side.

"If we win on Saturday it definitely puts us in a marvellous position," the boss said.

"We want to win this game and get the gap back to five points. We got a bonus on Monday and we can't ask for any more than that. It's in our hands. Hopefully we can make our game in hand [against Blackburn] count.

"We'll have a fantastic support at Ewood. It'll be a great atmosphere and I couldn't be taking my players there at a better time. We're looking for a top performance from them.

"They need to trust in themselves and in each other. We have the players to do that and our form is good. So I expect a good performance."

Ok guys! Another 12 more hours to go!

Hope SAF remember to bring his Champange along for his good old boy!

With Vidic back there shouldn't be any loop hole at the back! And R n R should be on the score sheet maybe with Tevez as well!

The draw is better than lost.

Man U didnt play well. The initial 10 min they passed around but never trouble Blackburn defense

Sigh.... just one of those days where the ball refuse to go into the net

BUT, it is even more interesting now, the game at Chelsea next week will be the title decider and probably be the grand daddy of all matches of the season!!

But first, let's go to Barca and kick some Spanish ass!!

Not the ideal result but still avoided defeat and that is impt. Against Chelsea, just avoid defeat and Man Utd will be in the driving seat.

cannot afford to drop points! Secure 3 points then EPL title then we will entertain Barca at OT without the need to woory about EPL title!

We just need to NOT lose at Stamford Bridge. Even a point, and we'll still be ahead of Chelski on vastly superior goal difference. After that, it's home games!!!

Of course a win would be great, thus breaking Chelski's duno-how-many-year home record.

    Robbo backs Reds

Former United captain Bryan Robson is tipping the Reds' fine form to take them past Barcelona and into this year's Champions League final.

Robson, who recently agreed to take on an ambassadorial role at Old Trafford, concedes that the Catalan giants will ask questions of Sir Alex Ferguson's side, but feels that United are on the crest of a wave going into the season's climax.

"They’ll be tough games because Barcelona have got outstanding players," Robson told Manutd.com. "They’ve got the likes of Eto’o, Messi, Ronaldinho and Henry, and they’re a great attacking team.

"But I’m sure United can trouble their defence with the forwards they’ve got. I think there will be goals in the games because of the style of the two teams, and I’ve got United down as favourites for the way they’re playing at the moment."

With the Reds five points clear at the Premier League summit, Robson is hopeful that they will have wrapped up another league title before Barcelona's second-leg visit to Old Trafford, allowing Sir Alex Ferguson to focus on masterminding a Double.

"Hopefully United will have tied up the Premier League before the second leg has come around. If they win both then it would definitely be deserved, after the way they’ve played," said Robson.

"In every game they've played in Europe this season, they've deserved the result they've got. In the league they’ve been playing some great football, and you can tell how dominant they’ve been just by looking at the goal difference and points tally they’ve racked up."

    Wayne won't miss Wednesday

Sir Alex claims Wayne Rooney, Edwin van der Sar, Owen Hargreaves and Anderson will all be fit to face Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Wednesday.

Van der Sar, Hargreaves and Anderson were rested on Saturday at Ewood Park, while Rooney was forced off against Blackburn Rovers with a hip injury.

Rooney went down under a challenge from Ryan Nelsen midway through the second half in United’s 1-1 draw on Saturday. After a period of restricted movement, the England international appeared to loosen up but was eventually replaced by Ji-sung Park in the 90th minute.

“Wayne got a knock on the hip but I’m sure it won’t keep him out of Wednesday night’s match,” Sir Alex told Setanta Sports.

“Sometimes when you get a kick on the bone it can be very sore at the time but I expect he’ll recover.”

    Henry eyes Euro showdown

Barcelona striker Thierry Henry admits United are currently "flying" ahead of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final.

Henry, once hailed as "the greatest striker ever" by Arsene Wenger, claims to be indifferent about facing old foes United.

"I'm neither happy nor unhappy [about playing United]. I just think this is the team we're going to play in the semi-final, and if we want to reach the final we have to beat them. I think they will be two good games of football, though, because they have the same kind of approach to the game that we have."

Both teams hold an unbeaten record in this year's Champions League campaign and you can guarantee neither team will easily sacrifice that statistic.

He gave little away as to how he, and indeed Barcelona, will approach the game but coolly pointed out United have not been unbeatable in their race for the Barclays Premier League.

"At the moment they're flying, but you never know in football. Hopefully they will have a bad day when we play them. You know how it is in the Champions League –* one bad day and you're gone."
wonder who will travel to Nou Camp?

If we beat Chelsea, then we're champions liao. Should lessen Grant's misery, let him get the sack faster so he can go back to Abramovich's side.
