Just came back from bangkok and a little accident happened. Wanted to picked up my 40D from a marble table, just when i lifted it up, my camera strap caught onto something and i loses my grip. It fall about 2 inch back onto the table with a loud "thud". Tried using it to take some pictures, luckily no scratches or damages on the camera, but my heart hurts
![]() ![]() . Never check the table for damages though. haha. Must really comment on the build. Wanted to do a little survey if any one had dropped your 40D before and what is the consequences.

2 inches is nothing really. The body of 40D is mostly magnesium alloy and quite tough. Its designed to take some knocks and minor drops, so nothing to worry about. Just do a few quick operational checks and test it with your lens. If the camera works as before, then it means its fine.

I have used my 40D for 2 months without any abuse, but the base and the grip of the camera already begin to wobble......don't feel quite happy with the build quality....

your 40D will be fine. my 30D has been knocked around quite a bit and still functions well.
it also hit 10,000 shutter clicks on the weekend!
