for pt photog i think they're paid hourly... from $7++ per hour depending on the company ba....
ft beginner photog we get paid around 1.2k excl. cpf... thats during the probation period... at least for me i had a 3 month probation period... i guess basic you gotta know how to operate a cam basically rough knowledge about lighting ba... rough stuff like knowing the suitable settings for the shoot location... eg from indoors to outdoors... oh basic knowledge of photoshop is a definite must too... like color correction and stuff... cos from there on with the basic knowledge your colleagues will help you out and teach you the rest of the ropes.. ooh but one thing to expect is... erm... iono... personally im a detest the sun person kinda girl... rofl.. so from a white hainanese i turned into a dark skinned one now... rofl... sometimes got to wake up at ungodly hours to do the shoots too depending on the project..but in the end during the shoot i really enjoyed it in the end and found it worth the time and effort seeing the clients expressions.... not sure if this little bits of info helps or not though... just my 3 cents worth... ![]() Last edited by tainted; 29th March 2008 at 09:23 PM. |

i usually pass on those, though. |

Its always good to have one so that your potential employer can guage your standards.
Doesnt have to be a professional gallery. Even a slideshow will do to showcase some of your best works. Too much is an overkill though. Maybe select 20+ of the best photos - ideally spread over a variety of categories like portraiture, landscape, macro (product shoot), events etc. |

If the fellow ask for an event shoot, show them your event shots photos, if the fellow ask for products shots, show them the product portfolio ... not EVERYTHING. Instead of impressing your client, i think it will confuse them ,...impressing upon them that you are jacks of all trades and master of none. It's good if you can reallly shoot a great variety of shots, but show them what they ask for.

personaly think are you wanting to enter this industry for money or it is a passion ?
As the starting gone be really very hard and some photography after 3 years still cannot make it in this industry. I am not dis-couraging but asking you to think before entering. IF it is just pure passion noting can stop you as you are your only limtation. Blessings Hensa |

Heard from my friends is rather tough too as singapore is so small. Also my current job pay is much better than,if i got to go into photography as a beginner the pay is not so good.Singapore living standard is so high. As a freelancer i can earn more pocket $ as well as to improve on photography skills.
