Well, i've narrowed down my choice to this two cameras.
I've made up my mind i will not jump into the intimidating world of DSLR just yet. maybe i'll wait after ORDing out of NS to splurge on DSLR. So, comparing this two systems, image wise, costs, feel etc, which simply edges out the other? ive read reviews after reviews but still got myself bewildered. so someone just please shoot to me which is better, thank you ![]() now my heart is rather tilting towards the S5 side. oh ya, on a sidenote im looking forward to shooting macros and moonshots teehee. |

G9 is <$800, S5IS is <$700.
I am a G3 user but I find the G7/G9 completely unattractive, feature that make G series famous like fast lens and vari-angle LCD are no longer available, even RAW was once removed on G7--although G9 does have it back by user demand. I will go for S5IS, Vari-Angle LCD, larger aperture, longer tele zoom, more ergonomic design with a real grip. go for G9 if you need smaller body, RAW, more pixels and maybe cleaner image on high ISO with its bigger sensor.
