    Default Photo Editing Software

    Hi all,

I have a friend who wants to purchase original software but doesn't know which is good. Photoshop is way too expensive for him so he thought of Photoshop Elements which is cheaper. Are there any other alternatives?

Where and how much can I get this software for him? He's overseas and it's cheaper in Singapore.

    Try the stores at funan.

Now they are selling photoshop elements version 2.

    Alternative is Paint Shop Pro.

Hehe.. Oh bro, don't quote me hor!
I craft the reply carefully not to mention anything about using pirated software hor? Illegal hor..

But frankly, after using Adobe Photoshop Ver 7, (trying to get hold of Ver 8), I don't feel like using other software. It's simply give me more than what I desire in an editing software.

I'll say, get hold of Adode Photoshop. It's definitely worth the time and effort to learn this software.

actually if you buy a scanner or other imaging hardware (digicam?), they usually throw in a free copy of PS Elements or LE version. can ask around, see if any1 has a unused copy. that's perfectly legal AFAIK.

    but dun quote me.

yup, photoshop 7 is definitely the best choice but it's $$$ and can be too much to handle for a beginner, err...i am assuming that ur fren is one .
Photoshop Elements 2 is a scale-down version of Photoshop, and it's alot easier to use. if i am not wrong, can find it at South Asia (Funan) for sligthly over $100.
Another option is to download trail version of these softwares from Adobe and see which one he is more comfortable with lor.
And ur fren's decision to use only ORIGINAL software is highly commendable !

I think as far as originals go, Paint Shop Pro 8 is definitely value for money. HUGE improvement over version 7.

Photoshop is just overkill for me, lah.

I, however, recommend the Linux Version, which is very much more stable.
