Default will IR ruin my camera?

just curious..

when on auto exposure mode, my digicam will have to adjust quickly to the correct exp setting when i put on/remove the IR filter.. esp. when taking it off the preview screen suddenly becomes very bright before taking some time to readjust.. will this spoil the camera's CCD?

Default Re: will IR ruin my camera?

no.

it will not. but staring at the sun with the ir filter on,if you are using dslr and through-the-lens viewfinder may damage your eyes.

the only reason why i have included this seemingly useless piece of information is because "no" is too short to be posted.
