Default The New Paper - Bridal Show @Vivocity 22 March (Sat) - Fujifilm S6500fd

Arrived late at 3.10pm and had no place near to shoot. In the end, shoot from behind the crowd.

As many people were standing very near to the stage, getting full body shots was also difficult, not to mention any frontal shots..

Frankly, shooting close-up portraits will totally miss the purpose of the fashion show which is to showcase the bridal gowns.

Anyway, here are a few shots :

#4

#5 I wasn't careful about white gowns and got the front of the gown blown out.

Actually, the crowd size wasn't extremely huge but the large area in front of the stage was largely used to set up booths and the space just in front of the stage was very limited.

As, unlike some other shopping centres, there wasn't any area cordoned off around the stage, viewers were standing very near to the stage and therefore it's only possible to take full body shots if you're right in front or in the official photographers area.

I only managed to get a few barely can-make-it shots because there were many hands and heads in front of me even with my 3-step ladders. That was why I couldn't include the feet/shoes of the models in the shots.

Actually, when I first arrived, I could go nearer in front somewhere in the 4rd row but using my ladders there would block some people behind.

Ya, that's Ashley Tan .......Miss Tourism 2007.

Thanks but frankly, there isn't much in this series. There were a lot of nice gowns paraded but I only managed to capture a few.

That little girl in #3 was behind the stage screen for quite a while to peek and wait for her turn to make her appearance. She was peeking behind the curtains before that shot and when she finally came out from behind to take a closer look at the proceeding on the stage, I took a snap of her.

I have seen her a few times already in some fashion show pictures posted in the past by fellow forumers here.

(ps. all shots taken at ISO 400 and picture quality (sharpness and details resolution) isn't good when shooting at full or almost full zoom from far away).

Haha. My youngest niece (4.5 years old now) looks like her.

My niece also often get asked to be the presenter or compere for her Kindergarten or church children events. And also flower girl for weddings.
