Thread: Rechargable battery pack or AAs?

Default Rechargable battery pack or AAs?

Hi, i own a 400D and has a battery grip with a NB-2LH battery pack. But i found out that it will not last me for 400+ shots so i decided to upgrade it. Should i get another NB-2LH (720mAh) or 6 rechargable batteries, eg Eneloop (2000mAh)?

imo both is fine. but if you've a external flash unit, the eneloop can be used on it as well.

You mean you bought a 400D with a battery grip and you only have 1 battery? Since you already got the grip, why don't you just get another NB-2LH, then you can fully utilise your grip. It is also good to have an extra battery as back up.

Thanks. But is 2 NB-2LH better than 6x Eneloop or the other way?

Yeah, i only have 1 battery. I dont want to waste money on another NB-2LH if 6xEneloop can provide more juice.

    Btw, how to calculate the total mAh for 2x NB-2LH and 6x Eneloop? Is it 2x 720mAh = 1440mAh and 6x 2000mAh = 12000mAh?

    2 nos of NB-2LH will be 720mAh x 2 = 1440mAh but 6x Eneloop will only be 2000mAh.

Reason is becos you only ned one NB-2LH (7.4V) to powerup yr camera whereas you need 6x Enelooop (6 x 1.2V =7.2V) to power up yr cam.

Get an extra camera battery, and get Enelops seperately for your flash
