Scanning negative

hello.

erm, i would like to know if i developed a roll of film and i wouldlike to scan them in to my comp, how should i do it? because i tried, and i cannot see the pictures on the negative.

to scan negatives you need either a dedicated film scanner or a flat bed with a back light on the lid.

though, i have scanned negatives on a standard flat bed without back light. the negative image can be 'reversed' using photoshop. image quality is very poor though, but it looked really cool.

hey there! just wondering about this 'back light'. should it be white light?

preferably it should..
I tried scanning with a lamp over my scanner to provide the light, works quite well, just that you need some way to hold the negs down.. that was before I got my film scanner anyway..

or you could use coloured lights... like applying filters....

i suppose if you are using b&w negatives, then applying a red filter will help increase contrast...
