Default $3 fisheye

Hej all, i've went to try the peekhole fisheye lens as seen at this thread.
I bought the door peekhole for about $3.
Then attached it to a PVC tube cap and then to the PVC tube.
Here's how it looks like.

Very shabby work done by me.
Sample Pictures below.

haha, just pop down to the door section where they have all the knobs and hinges.
The peekhole viewer should be there.

I'll definitely try this...

This kind of DIY shows the creativity of a photographer. Good job

It is definitely much better than debating in the forum which fish eye lens to buy

My two cents.

Very sorry, but I accidentally destroyed my fish-eye setup while fiddling with it some time back, so I'm unable to repost the photos of the process.

To summarise, find some tube that is roughly the diameter of your P&S lens. If it's slightly too large, use tape on the inside of the tube to reduce the diameter and increase grip. Somehow suspend the door peephole in the middle of this tube (be creative here!). Use macro mode on your P&S as the focusing is affected by the peephole. Hope that your setup miraculously works!

Do note that you may have to zoom in a bit to get the circle to fill up the image. Usually the aperture will be so small at the tele end that camera shake becomes a major issue. Also if your lens retracts fully remember to remove your fisheye from the lens before shutting down the camera!

Can this setup be done on a SLR? or is it strictly for compact cameras?
Thanks!
