Default Fujifilm F50fd

Ok... I know the F31fd is the best... the F50fd can never match the Image Quality of the F31fd etc... but the F31fd is no longer available and its time for me to move on...

Now I want to get a compact camera... no intention of getting a
2nd hand... so should i still consider the F50fd ? How is it compare to other brand / model of similar spec ?

Wait for the F100fd, it's launching in Spore ard April. Specs & performance whilst, same as F50fd, except that the lens is wider now at 28mm instead of 35mm

I have got f31fd myself and considering to get another fuji f series as my wife is using the f31fd more and more. Tried f50fd last week briefly and it looks to be at least as good as f31fd. I haven't really reserached in great details why people say f31fd is still better.

I think the sharpness is close/similar, which is very good for me. The ISO, well, I have never used more than ISO 800 on my f31fd anyway.

My only reservation of getting it is just that f100fd is around the corner, I really want that 28mm eq. So if f100fd is as sharp as f31fd then I will be getting one.

Just got a f50fd recently and I am very impressed with the image quality at low iso and big big LCD haha

I yet to shoot dim photos at high ISO but looking at the review photos on dpreview. I realised the ISO control seems to be pretty bad.

grains are very obvious at ISO800 and some at ISO 400. So for now, i probably guess one of the reasons is the ISO control might not be as good as the f31fd. Might be because of pixels to sensor size ratio.

F50fd have a slightly bigger sensor yet the technology to double the megapix might have lost its ISO control.

Have proceed to get the f50fd.

Some queries
1) The battery life is rather bad, anybody tried OEM battery with higher
mah (Milliampre) rating ? it is really better ?

2) Any recommendation for casing that will fit the f50 well ?

thanks.

Perharps switch to take photos at 6.0mp will be better?

How much does F50fd cost now?

still considering between the F50fd and F100fd.

like the Ap and Sp settings on F50fc but like the wider lens on the F100fd..... sheesh....
