Default Canon HV30 Sample Footage

Just shot these Formula 1 cars with my new HV30. For such a low budget camcorder, the image quality is pretty wonderful. Canon allows you to control nearly everything affecting the picture quality which is very different approach from the Sony budget HD cams.

Hi guys,

Could you PM me where you got/are getting the HV30? And the price as well?

I have a DV cam and am considering an upgrade.

Rgds,

From the other thread, I thought you are trying to decide between EX1 and HVX202?

Ah ok. You decided what to buy yet? If you need to use the camera handheld I would not recommend the EX1, it's very unbalanced sideways.

so ur saying get the hvx202 is better?
but i've read other forums saying the ex1 is better in terms of quality and their sxs card are more stable than the p2 cards.
but wat you mean by unbalanced sideways?

No, I've never used the HVX. I believe the EX1 is much much sharper though, because the HVX sensor is lower resolution and then upsampled in 2 dimensions. I was just saying that the EX1 is very badly designed when it comes to handheld useage. For nearly everything else it is very impressive.

If you are seriously interested in these cams you should be able to get a hands-on demo of both of them and try for yourself.
