The Olympus 4/3 DSLR with the battery grip and the first 4 lens based on the 4/3 mount is out.
It's at the Olympus booth at the PC Show 2003 at Expo. No price indication though. |

you still got the idea of small CCD = Noise. not always the case wat... if olympus really gonna implement this system then hopefully they will do a good job with kodak and fujifilm to minimize the CCD + improve sensor noise problems. hopefully they do a good job.

I understand it to be that Kodak will be doing their own cam and marketing it as under Kodak, separate from Oly. If Oly does not 1. increase ISO to at least ISO1600. 2. Reduce noise even at ISO320. 3. flush times. It will not beat Nikon/ Canon/ Fuji as the 35-mm format is widely used by all professionals and non-pro as well. 4/3 may make sense...but I doubt the sellability. Oly does better with the E10/E20. 4/3 as I understand comes after the E-series body...so does it justify? |

I think the fact that they've actually called it a 4/3 sensor should be self-explaining enough ;-) |

It was a pre-production model only, right? Not for sale. Those who didn't go PC Show didn't miss much. Quite disappointing, actually. Olympus didn't display their E-20 and the Nikon booth was decidedly insignificant. Minolta didn't even have a presence.

the 300m, f/2.8 lens was put in a plastic showcase so high up, that i thought all that it takes is one running small boy to run into it, and it's gone case for the lens already...
