Ram lotsa ram. Very cheap nowadays so go for 2gig or even 4gig! 1gig $29! 2gig $69!

HDD can get external ones, now also very cheap. 3.5 external WD 500gig for $150 at IT show.

Go for the highest CPU speed possible for the SAME $$$ budget.

WD = Western Digital. That's a brand of a company that specializes in portable/external HDD.

all 4 laptops don't suit the purpose. i think 14.1" is too small for photo-processing. RAM is important for this task, so i suggest u go for at least 2GB.

But note that Photoshop support on the MacBook is quite limited.

Ha, ha, ha! I was wondering when somebody was going to say that - all four are actually ridiculous on many counts - firstly common to all is a distinct unsuitability of the display for precise viewing, much less editing of photographs; secondly, you would ask if the machines fully and correctly support 4G of RAM, especially since they're configured with a completely useless Operating System. Also, you'd do well to get a IEEE1394 or Firewire 800 or at least 400 port, to enable you to link to an external Firewire-enabled hard disk of at least 160Gig, AND which has a decent-sized cache and RPM speed specification. Good, too, would be support for a truly "second display" to enable you to view editing on a "real" screen, whilst retaining the control menus and other stuff like note-taking, etc., on the notebook's "natural" screen itself. And finally, find out how many of each model are in the back of the shop for repairs!!!

Sorry I sound so cynical, but the specs offered are so far off what is even minimally usable, that I simply had to respond. Good Luck with your choice, and I hope you consider the simple recommendations above.
