SAL1680Z Back Focus Issue

Hi, has anyone bought one with the BF issue? Was wondering if SonySG is able to fix it? I bought mine from HK :P

So long as you had Sonystyle HK convert it to an international warranty, Sony SG will service it.

Also Sony is very quick to reply (within today)
Based on your description, it is suspected that an alignment may be required for the lens.
Service charge for SAL1680Z is $85.60 excluding parts. Please attached the main unit with this lens so that the engineer will be able to run a complete test after this alignment.

Just got both my body and lens back from SSC yesterday

Body bought locally but lens bought in HK also.

Although they say will charge me for the lens but in return there were no charges. Good service from SSC.

The adjustment was probably very minor... anyway do shoot with the lens and check out if the back focus issue has been solved.

which body? A100 or A700?

A100. KM5D all have back focus issue...

Don't be so sure... my A100 works great.

Mine is working ok with A350.

Some users reported image shift while zooming back and forth, luckily mine doesn't have it.

Was backfocus issue more prevalent at A100?

the earlier batches have problem. nowadays should be fine. if u still tio lemon, means suay >_<
