Does anybody have this experience, some CF card works and some doesn't. I have 3 CF cards, 1 works for S2Pro, and the other 2 show "card not initiated" error.
But all 3 of them work well in Nikon D70 and D200, and they are all shown to be proper when connected to PC. Unfortunitely, I sold the working one together with the D70, now the S2Pro can not be used without a working CF card. Is there any particular brand that works? or what can be done to make them work in S2Pro, can't even activate the menu to format the cards in the camera when the error appears. Found a SD to CFII adaptor, it works fine now. I can continue to use the camera.
But interestingly, both Lexar and Tanscend 80x CF cards can't work in the S2Pro. |

well, if you're still following this thread 2 months later....
i think the problem is that newer cards are bigger capacity and have a different filesystem. at the time the S2pro came out, the largest capacity CF storage device available for dslrs was the 1gb microdrive. iirc it was Fat16 filesystem. some people later hacked the creative mp3 player for the 5gb microdrive but that's another story. |
